About

We are Reformed, Evangelical, and Anglican.

Reformed

Reformed

We stand in the tradition of the Protestant Reformation, which sought to bring the church back to its ancient beginnings of faith in Jesus: the 16th Century Reformers believed the Bible was the final authority in matters of faith. They made changes to their practices where they could see error or misunderstanding had crept into the Church. We continue to do the same, whilst also seeking out wisdom from Christians in the past.

Evangelical

Evangelical

We believe the whole Bible is given to us by God; it tells us that God made the world; and that the biggest problem in this world is sin (rebellion against a good and holy God). The solution to that problem is Jesus: Jesus’ death on the cross pays the price of our sin and wins us forgiveness that we do not deserve and could never earn. God calls us to leave our old life behind and live a new life of trust and obedience.

The Bible says some things that are difficult to accept and hard to obey, but we believe that it reveals God’s character, and tells us true things about ourselves and our world.

Anglican

Anglican

To be Anglican means to hold to the historic Christian faith as expressed in the 39 Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Ordinal. These three documents are together called ‘The Formularies’. We are committed to the beliefs and teachings laid out in the Formularies, which we believe are in line with the teaching of the Bible. Anglicans all over the world share this same commitment.
We are part of the Diocese of Armidale, led by our Bishop, the Right Reverend Rod Chiswell.
